Super Falcons head coach Randy Waldrum has urged the team to be at their best against the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco in the semi final of the African Women’s Cup of Nations, WAFCON 2022, Sportivation.com.ng reports.

The hosts are unbeaten in the competition and are in search of their first-ever WAFCON title, after booking a place at the FIFA World Cup in New Zealand and Australia.

The clash is expected to be played at the Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex, Rabat.

The Super Falcons recovered from a 2-1 loss to South Africa to win their last three matches and also qualify for the World Cup.

Waldrum confessed his admiration for the Moroccan team and revealed that it will be a big challenge for his team.

“I saw them for the first time in September and I was very impressed by the quality of their team and by the football they play,”Waldrum told CAF website.

“I said as soon as I arrived in Morocco that they are the team that can surprise. I know how this team has developed for three years now.

“They are one of the best teams in the competition and are capable of beating any other team. We have respect for Morocco and the way they have played in this tournament.

“It’s a big challenge for us. Certainly, we have a lot of experience and a lot see us as favorites, but in football everything is possible and we have to be ready for this game.”

Similarly, Super Falcons midfielder Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene said the team is ready to conquer the hosts to book a final place.

“No matter who we face, whether it’s the host country or whatever, it’s football… we have to be ready to win and qualify for the final,” Okobi told CAFonline.

The Super Falcons defeated Cameroon 1-0 courtesy of a goal from Rasheedat Ajibade to advance to the last four of the competition, while the Moroccans earned a 2-1 win over Botswana.
