ICYMI: Celebrating Our 2022 Maltina School Games Champion, Olubunmi Israel

Remember when the only thing school sports champions won were bragging rights till the next sports season?
Well, that’s changed because today, school sport competitions are ending in gold medals, gala nights and grand celebrations and thanks to Maltina for changing the narrative! Every year, Nigeria’s premium malt brand, Maltina goes all out with the Maltina School Games, an annual track and field sports festival designed to give school sports in Nigeria a complete makeover and harness grassroot talents.
On the 23rd of June, 2022 Maltina took the train of happiness to Vega College, Alagbado, Lagos to celebrate the overall winner of the 2022 edition of the Maltina School Games, Olubunmi Israel.
The event kicked off with a light aerobics session as nothing beats some minutes of cardio to kickstart excitement. The students and guests were all pumped up and ready for fun after the session.
The keen expressions on the faces of the students were proof enough that the speeches and words of encouragement from the brand team hit their mark and the enthusiastic applause that followed each speech showed that they were indeed inspiring.
The excitement of the event was brought to its peak when Olubunmi Israel, the MSG 2022 overall Best Athlete was presented with a trophy by Maltina Brand Team members, Ifeyinwa Madu and Charles Nwachukwu for her outstanding athletic performance at the 2022 Maltina School Games.
The cup was a terrific icing on the cake for Oluwabunmil, who had earlier won a 1.5M Naira Cash Prize and a chance to represent Nigeria at the World School Games in China later this year courtesy of Maltina.
Asides the side attractions and entertaining displays, everyone had their share of the variety of refreshments and of course, cups of chilled Maltina made available at the event.
Maltina School Games has always brought joy, revived passion and celebrated excellence in the Nigerian school sports scene since its inception— right from the days of superstar athletes and past winners of the Maltina School Games; Joy Ojo (2020) and Demilade Ajayi (2021).
The 2022 edition of the Maltina School Games was nothing short of awe-inspiring with the emergence of exceptional school sport talents never seen before.
We can’t wait to see what the 2023 edition has in store for high school athletes across the country. Who knows? It just might be someone you know claiming all the mouthwatering prizes next year.
