Former Golden Eaglets attacking midfielder Olatomi Alfred Olaniyan has joined Swedish second division outfit Örebro.
The 20-year-old was part of the U17 team that represented Nigeria at the U17 Africa Nations Cup in 2019.
He has represented local side Sidos FC before signing for Hammarby Talang FF in Sweden. He also played for Swedish topflight team Hammarby and had a brief stint there.
However, following a string of impressive performances, Örebro have moved in to acquire the services of the diminutive midfielder.
While granting an interview on the club’s official website, Olaniyan said: “When I heard they were interested, I just told my agent to make it happen. I just wanted to come here. The first time they told me, I just wanted to be here.”
Olaniyan said he is already looking forward to the experience of representing the club. He says he just wants “to enjoy it and see how it feels to be here.”
Örebro are currently 8th in the Superettan after playing 10 matches. The team has won five, drawn one and lost four games this term, accruing 16 points.
Olaniyan’s new side face AIK away from home in the next League fixture on Sunday, 19th June.
