Peseiro Backs Super Eagles To Improve

Super Eagles coach, Jose Peserio has expressed his delight following the team’s impressive performances in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers, Sportivation.com.ng reports.
Peseiro lost his first two matches in charge of the team against Mexico and Ecuador in America in friendlies aimed at preparing the team for the AFCON qualifiers.
The first competitive match under his tutelage ended 2-1 in favour of the Super Eagles over Sierra Leone in the opening match of the qualification series at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
The second match against Sao Tome and Principe ended 10-0 in a record-breaking scoreline making the Portuguese coach the first gaffer to lead the Super Eagles to their highest ever scoreline.
“We achieved our goal of points won, grew as a group and conquered a historical record, always based on fundamental values, team spirit and mutual help,” said Peseiro.
He added: “We made the Nigerian nation proud. We are focused on improving our work to achieve our goals. @NGSuperEagles #SoarSuperEagles.”
The Super Eagles lead Group A with maximum six points from two games, Guinea Bissau second on four points while Sierra Leone boast of a point, Sao Tome and Principe are in the bottom of the group with zero point.
Nigeria’s next match is a double-header against Guinea Bissau in September.
