A week before the start of The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Super Six Tournament in Benin, Bayelsa Queens Football Club visited the Okaka Correction Centre in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State where they went to show compassion and humanity to the inmates.

The team held a prayer session in the “Chapel of Mercy” a church situated inside the facility. And they made a promise to the Pastors and inmates of coming back to testify with the trophy if they should go on to win the competition.

A month later, after impressively winning the trophy in Benin City Edo State, the team led by The Technical Adviser Moses Aduku went back to fulfill it’s promise of visiting with the trophy and also testifying to the goodness of God in their lives.

Speaking on behalf of the team, Technical Adviser, Moses Aduku thanked God for the grace to fulfill their promise of a visit back to the facility, that they were told that so many persons and groups have been there for prayers but non had returned for testimony and thanksgiving despite achieving their aims. He added that they did not only promised to come back for thanksgiving but they also promised to come with the trophy. A promise which there are there to fulfill.

“First and foremost we want to thank God for giving us the grace to fulfill our promise to the correction center, why we were to travel we came here for prayers and we were told that so many have come but never returned, but we said to them we are going to come back, not just come back but with the trophy”.

“Honestly my joy is full that we are able to make it and i pray God that we will not only visit today like what i said because our coming here will also give some of the people (inmates) in there a sense of belonging that they have people that cares for them, so i am happy that we are here”. he added.
