…….Team to Get Sponsors

…..Set To Move into their New Camp Next week

Bayelsa State Government on Sunday, hosted the victorious state owned female team, Bayelsa Queens at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

The State Governor Senator Douye Diri who was ably represented by his Deputy Senator Lawrence Ehrujakpo thanked the team for emerging the champions of the just concluded NWFL Super Six by winning all it matches at the tournament to show that they are the best female team in the country.

The Deputy Governor also revealed that the State Government are looking to get sponsors for the team so they can assist the state in other to support the team while also revealed that the team will be moving to their new camp next week as work is almost done.

“Am just discussing with the Commissioner for Sports, we are also looking for sponsors for the team so they can also assist the state government.

“Some of you will be shown on television, advertising some of those products, anybody we are able to get even if it’s First Bank, Shell, Aiteo or any company that will advertise, that job is what we want to do now with the commissioner,” we want to get sponsors that will sponsor you and make you feel better.”

On the teams participation at the upcoming CAF women’s Champions League, the Deputy Governor said that they have learnt from the male’s team (Bayelsa United) participation last year and that everything will be put in place to ensure Bayelsa Queens have a better outing this time around.

“We have learnt from the mistakes we made with United when they went, it was our first time and we have learnt some lessons so all those things that made them not to do very well this time around we are going to cross all the tees and dot all the eyes”.

Speaking on behalf of the team, Captain Joy Jerry thanked the State government for their support, love, courage to the team. She promised that they are going to conquer the continent and bring back the trophy to Bayelsa State.

Bayelsa Queens are set to resume training after a week long break from their NWFL Super Six triumph in Benin City last month.
