Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has won the Bruno Martini Award for ‘Goalkeeping Revelation of the Season’ in the French women’s football elite league.

Nnadozie displayed a couple of stellar performances for her club Paris FC at the recently concluded French Division 1 Feminine 2021/22 season.

She also helped her club qualify for next term’s UEFA Women’s Champions League after they finished third on the league table.

The former Rivers Angels goalkeeper signed for the French side in 2020 and has remained an important member of the team. She kept 13 clean sheets in 19 league games for Paris FC last season.

The 21-year-old former Falconets goalkeeper was nominated alongside Issy GPS goalkeeper, Colette Morche and Stade de Reims goalkeeper Emily Alvarado.

Following her win, the Nnadozie expressed her excitement on Twitter: “I want to use this opportunity to say a big thank you to the AEGB Football Association France, for this great award. A special thanks to Paris FC, you guys made it possible.”

The award is voted for by other goalkeepers, members of the goalkeeper coaches’ association and professional football goalkeeper coaches.

Later this year, the brilliant youngster is expected to feature for the Super Falcons at the Africa Women Cup of Nations. She is among the goalkeepers invited for camping by coach Randy Waldrum ahead of the tournament, which was last held in 2018.

The competition had to be cancelled two years ago due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
