Premier League: Newcastle Dent Arsenal Champions League Hopes

Newcastle United earned a stunning 2-0 win over Arsenal to put paid to the Gunners’ hopes of securing Champions League football.

Mikel Arteta’s men needed to win the match to overtake Tottenham, who had gone two points clear following a 1-0 win over Burnley on Sunday.

Ben White scored an own goal to give the hosts the lead ten minutes after the restart before Bruno Guimares put the icing on the cake in the 85th minute to condemn Arsenal to a second consecutive loss.

The Gunners are two points behind Tottenham with one game to go in the Premier League.
