Bayelsa Queens are ready to conquer the 2022 NWFL Super Six after intense training session in preparation for the super six.

Bayelsa Queens on Tuesday defeated Heartland Queens 3-1 at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri as they rounded up there preparation for the super 6 taken place in Benin City from 16th – 22nd May, 2022.

The “Prosperity Girls” will be departing for a competition they failed woefully to perform by their High standards, drawing two, winning just one of their five games against weeping girls Edo Queens and losing to FC Robo and eventual winners Rivers Angels in the 2021 edition in Ijebu Ode, Ogun state.

In truth, the Prosperity Girls were the best team in the country and were actually topping the league table after the first half of last season before the competition was abruptly ended in other for the league to produce a winner in time for the First CAF Champions League in Morocco.

That decision psychologically affected the players and as a result also affected their performance at the inaugural competition at Ijebu Ode, But the Moses Aduku’s tutured side got their acts in order, and went on to deliver the Aiteo Cup that was coincidentally played at the venue hosting this year’s Super 6 tournament, known as Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, Edo State.

With star player Anjor Mary injured for the most part of the regular season, the club went in search of strikers in other to boost their attack after scoring only 21 goals in the regular season, three (3) less than Group A winners Nasarawa Amazons on twenty-four (24) goals.

Twenty-one-year-old FC Robo Queens Captain and Super Falcons striker Monday Gift was brought in on loan, and 24-year-old Zambian striker Natasha Witika has signed from Tanzanian club Tiger Queens. While another Super Falcons Midfielder Joy Bokiri (23) returned to the side that she helped win last season’s Aiteo Cup.

Bayelsa Queens qualified for the Super 6 after finishing top of the Group B Standings in the Nigeria Women Football League and will be hoping to be crowned Nigerian Champions for the 5th time having won four (4) League Titles in the past, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2018.

Bayelsa Queens will begin their quest for glory at this year’s Super 6 against defending champions Rivers Angels at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium Benin City, Edo State.
