Chelsea won their third consecutive Women’s Super League title in dramatic circumstances on the last day of the season, defeating Manchester United.
Chelsea came from behind to win a six-goal thriller thanks to two brilliant volleys from Sam Kerr in the second half.
The Blues, who lead the Premier League by a point over second-placed Arsenal, knew a win would secure the championship.
Manchester United led 2-1 at the break, thanks to Kerr’s double and a Guro Reiten goal at Kingsmeadow.
It is the first time in WSL history that a club has won the league championship three years in a row, and Emma Hayes’ team can complete the domestic double if they defeat Manchester City in next Sunday’s FA Cup final at Wembley.
