Despite leading Paris Saint-Germain to the 2021/2022 Ligue 1 title, manager Mauricio Pochettino has been snubbed for the Ligue 1 manager of the year award.
The Argentine manager failed to even earn a nomination for the award.
Ligue 1 managers who were deemed fit enough to make the nomination list for Manager of the year include Jorge Sampaoli (Marseille), Christophe Galtier (Nice), Julien Stephan (RC Strasbourg), Bruno Genesio (Stade Rennais) and Antoine Kombouare (Nantes).
Just last month, PSG secured another French League title with four games to spare.
Former Tottenham manager Pochettino has been heavily criticized for not competing adequately enough in the Champions League tournament.
Even though the Parisiens have been largely successful domestically, they have failed to claim the coveted UEFA Champions League title. The closest the club has ever come to winning it was in the 2019/2020 final when they lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich, with Kingsley Coman netting the only goal of that game.
This season, Pochettino and his men were eliminated in the round-of-16 of the European top tier competition by Spanish giants Real Madrid, despite winning the first leg 2-0.
