NPFL: Plateau Utd, Rivers Utd Earn Vital Wins; 3SC Daze Enyimba

There were big wins for Plateau United and Rivers United as both teams continue their push for the NPFL title, Sportivation.com.ng reports.
It was rather a bad outing for former CAF Champions League winners Enyimba Int’l FC as the people’s Elephant lost in Ibadan to Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC).
In Port Harcourt, Rivers United comprehensively defeated Niger Tornadoes 3-0, which ended the away team’s run of five unbeaten games.
The home team took drew the first blood in the 61st minute of the encounter when Ishaq Rafiu lobbed the ball over Lucky Abdullahi after being beautifully set up by Morice Chukwu.
Two minutes after the opener, Nyima Nwagua scored to double Rivers United’s advantage.
The former Kano Pillars forward netted home after he was assisted by Chijoke Akuneto.
Konan Ruffin Ngouan scored the third following a good pass from Nelson Esor with 10 minutes of regulation time to go
In another matchday 25 encounter, Plateau United slightly beat Remo Stars 1-0.
Buhari Ibrahim’s header from Jesse Akila’s cross in the 53rd minute gave Fidelis Ilechukwu’s men all three points.
Rivers United lead the NPFL table with 55 points from 25 games. Plateau United are in just behind in second with 51 points also from same number of games.
At the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, 3SC beat Enyimba 2-0.
Moses Omoduemuke put the hosts ahead 14 minutes into the match before Emmanuel Lucky scored the second for the Oluyole Warriors in the 40th minute.
In another NPFL game played on the matchday, Wikki Tourists of Bauchi drew goalless against Heartland FC of Owerri.
