Milwaukee Bucks’ star player Giannis Antetokounmpo, reigning NBA Most Valuable Player, Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokić, and Philadelphia 76ers’ Joel Embiid have all been named as the 2021-2022 NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) finalists.

The three players, among the best players in the league, along with their various clubs are still very much in the battle for the NBA title in the playoffs, which already started over the weekend.

28-year-old Joel Embiid inspired the 76ers to victory over the Toronto Raptors while Serbian Jokić led the Nuggets against the Golden State Warriors, even though they lost.

Meanwhile, 27-year-old Greek superstar Antetokounmpo, who won the MVP in 2019 and 2020 and also sparked the Bucks to last season’s NBA title, lead his team to a 93-86 win over the Chicago Bulls earlier today in Game 1.

The three players were listed for six awards from results gotten from a global media panel. The winners of the awards will be officially announced during the NBA playoffs.

The finalists for the NBA Coach of the Year include Taylor Miami Heats’ Erik Spoelstra, Memphis Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins of Memphis, and Monty Williams, who is the coach of last season’s NBA finalists, Phoenix Suns.

For the Defensive Player of the Year finalists, Utah Jazz’s Rudy Gobert, who is a multiple award winner, the Suns’ Mikal Bridges and Marcus Smart who plays for the Boston Celtics, all made the cut.

NBA Rookie of the Year finalists are Detroit Pistons’ Cade Cunningham, Raptors’ Scottie Barnes and Evan Mobley of Cleveland Cavaliers.

Cleveland Cavaliers have one of their players, Darius Garland among the finalists for the NBA Most Improved Player award. Ja Morant (Memphis Grizzlies) and Dejounte Murray (San Antonio Spurs) are the other finalists in this category.
