Bosso Invites 40 Players For WAFU B U-20 Tournament

Head coach of Nigeria’s U20 male national team (the Flying Eagles) Ladan Bosso has invited 40 players for next month’s WAFU B U20 Championship which will be staged in Niamey, capital city of Niger Republic.

Four goalkeepers, 12 defenders, 17 midfielders and seven forwards were invited by the coach of the team.

According to the Team Secretary, Aliyu Lawal Ibrahim, the invited players have been told to arrive at the Blue Spring Hotel, Abuja on Monday, 18th April with their international passports.

Nigeria are seven-time African champions, and will face Ghana and Burkina Faso in Group B of the WAFU B Championship.

In Group A, host nation Niger Republic will slug it out with Togo, Cote d’Ivoire, and Benin Republic.

Only the two finalists from this tourney will qualify from the WAFU B zone and then go on to participate in the 2023 Total U-20 Cup of Nations.

The tournament is scheduled to hold from 7th to 20th May, 2022.
