The draw for the 12th Women Africa Cup of Nations will take place on Monday, April 25th, 2022, and will reveal Super Falcons of Nigeria group phase opponents, Sportivation.com.ng reports.

Ifeoma Onumonu and Esther Okoronkwo led the Super Falcons to a 3-0 aggregate triumph against Cote d’Ivoire in February.

In the previous round, striker Uchenna Kanu scored both goals in Lagos to help the Falcons defeat Ghana’s Black Queens, who won the return leg 1-0 in Accra.

Nigeria won the first Women Africa Cup of Nations (then known as the African Women Championship), which was held in the nation in 1998, and has since won seven more championships.

The only occasions in the competition’s history that the Super Falcons did not win were when the tournaments were held in Equatorial Guinea in 2008 and 2012.

This year’s competition in Morocco, from the 2nd to the 23rd of July, has extra significance because the four semi-finalists will represent Africa at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup finals in Australia/New Zealand.
