Tottenham vs Brighton: Trossard Dents Tottenham Top-Four Hopes

A 90th-minute Leandro Trossard goal gave Brighton a surprise three points against Tottenham, as Antonio Conte’s side dropped three points in the fight for the top four.
Brighton’s press and solidity limited Spurs’ play nicely in the first half, with the key moments of note being a flailing arm from Dejan Kulusevski and multiple late Enock Mwepu tackles that might have seen both men sent off.
Chances were few and far between, and while Spurs improved after the interval, Brighton remained very much in it.
There were few clear-cut opportunities in the second half, but when Trossard found space in the box with a jinking run with five minutes remaining, he made no mistake to secure a huge win for Brighton and to silent Spurs’ top-four hope.
Steven Bergwijn then missed a chance to snatch a point for Tottenham late in the game.
Spurs had won their last four Premier League games to boost their top-four hopes, but this defeat will come as a disappointment for Antonio Conte.
