The Egyptian U17 female national team have arrived in Abuja ahead of their tie with Nigeria’s U17 female national team, the flamingos, reports.

The World Cup third round first leg encounter will take place at the MKO Abiola stadium, Abuja on Sunday.

The Flamingos, who walloped their opponents from the Democratic Republic of Congo 8-0 on aggregate (3-0 in Kinshasa and 5-0 in Benin City) in March, will qualify for the final round of the qualifiers if they win the two-legged tie against the Egyptian girls.

The return leg will be played in the Egyptian capital city, Cairo on Friday, 30 April.

Any of the two teams that emerge victorious over the two legs will take on the winner of the tie between South Africa and Ethiopia for a place at this year’s FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, scheduled to happen between October 11 and 30 in India.

Heading into the fixtures against Egypt, head coach of the Nigerian team Bankole Olowookere invited 20 players from the group in camp.

The Nigerian contingent to prosecute the two legs comprise of two goalkeepers, seven defenders, four midfielders and seven forwards.

Meanwhile, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Ivorian match officials for Sunday’s clash in Nigeria. The officials are led by Natacha Gérardine Konan (Referee), while the other officials are Lou Djenan Danielle Ta (assistant referee 1), Ndeko Edwige Appia (assistant referee 2) and Zomadre Sonia Kore (fourth official).
