Manchester City are set to lose both Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne and English defender Kyle Walker to injury ahead of their Emirates FA Cup semi-final clash with Liverpool this weekend, Sportivation.com.ng reports.
The 30-year-old midfielder was seen limping off the pitch during City’s Champions League quarter-final second leg game against Atlético Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano on Wednesday.
Similarly, Walker was forced to leave the pitch following what seemed to be a serious ankle injury in the aftermath of a challenge.
The England international was seen on Thursday wearing a medical boot on the affected area of his left-foot, suggesting the possibility of the defender’s potential unavailability for a long period of time.
According to media reports in England, it is believed De Bruyne’s issue is that of an ‘impact injury’ rather than a muscular one.
However, it is still unknown the exact number of days and/or weeks both players will be out for as City doctors are now sweating to ensure both players are off the treatment table as soon as possible.
City manager Pep Guardiola will also hope both players are fit enough before the Champions League semifinal clash against Real Madrid.
