Several Nigerian superstars, including Nwankwo Kanu and Austin Okocha, responded online when former Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Emenike released a video of himself receiving treatment at an undisclosed facility and bemoaning his health condition.
Emenike led the competition in scoring with four goals as the Eagles won their third Africa Cup of Nations championship in South Africa in 2013.
However, the 34-year-old attacker is presently suffering an ailment that, according to him, appears to be serious.
The former Fernabache forward shared a video of himself receiving treatment from a nurse.
“God is good, the pain is too much for me and my heart cannot carry it anymore,” Emenike wrote alongside the video he posted on his official Instagram account.
The video has gone viral, eliciting emotions from Nigerians who are concerned about the former footballer’s health and wishing him a speedy recovery.
Austin Okocha wrote, “Get well soon Nwanne.”
Former Eagles and Arsenal forward, Nwankwo Kano responded to the post with a message that said, “Get well my brother. God is with you.”
Others also reacted to the post by the former Super Eagles Striker:
Peter Okolo wrote, “Lord, have mercy on him and let your healing power rest on him.”
Tope Adebayo said, “May Almighty God heals you for whatever sickness you might be having. You are so good and I admired you a lot. God, please answer our prayers over you. Ameen.”
