As a neural and football fan, games like this always take your breath away, especially when the odds are stacked against somebody and they defile it.
Well, the drama at Stadio Olimpico is something every football fan will love to see over and over again.
Tammy Abraham, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and a stunning Lorenzo Pellegrini free-kick put Roma 3-1 up with 20mins remaining as it was looking like another good day at the office for Jose Mourinho’s Men then the Old Lady fightback began.
First, Manuel Locatelli’s header made it 3-2 before a further two goals in the space of seven minutes came through close-range strikes from Dejan Kulusevski and Mattia De Sciglio to make it 3-4 in favour of the Old Lady.
Even an 83rd-minute penalty awarded to Roma which saw Matthijs de Ligt receive a second yellow card for a handball, could not help Roma salvage a point as Lorenzo Pellegrini’s spot-kick was saved by former Roma goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny to ensure Juventus left Olimpico with all three points in the bag.
The game had little importance in the title race but the defeat meant Roma drop down to seventh on 32 points while Juventus remain in fifth on 38 points; six points clear of sixth-place Fiorentina and three off Atalanta in fourth.
