A late goal by the Parisian defender Thilo Kehrer ensured Mauricio Pochettino’s side were saved from a defeat to Lyon.
The clash usually pits two of the top three in Ligue 1 but failed to produce any spark due to the fact that so many big-name players from both sides were not on the pitch coupled with Lyon languishing in a disappointing 13th position prior to kick-off.
However, in the eight minutes, Lyon took the lead thanks to Bruno Guimaraes’ pinpoint ball that sliced open the PSG backline with Lucas Paqueta on hand to smash home his ninth goal of an impressive season for the Brazilian.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men were below-par for large periods of the game, as Kylian Mbappe, Mauro Icardi, and Leandro Paredes all went close. They had Keylor Navas to thank as he prevented Lyon from extending their lead.
The Equalizer came with 14 minutes remaining when Thilo Kehrer’s deflected effort bobbled past Lyon ‘keeper Anthony Lopes. PSG almost won it at the end but Kylian Mbappé’s free-kick struck the woodwork.
The Parisian’s lead at the top is now 11 points whist Lyon moves up two places to 11th due to the result.
