Osimhen Ruled Out For Three Months, Set To Miss AFCON

Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen has been ruled out of action for three months after undergoing surgery on his cheekbone and eye socket, Sportivation.com.ng reports.
Osimhen suffered multiple face fractures following a clash of heads with Inter Milan defender, Milan Skriniar.
Napoli have now confirmed that the surgery was successful and Osimhen will be out for 90 days.
“On Tuesday morning, Victor Osimhen was operated on his cheekbone and eye socket by Gianpaolo Tartaro, who was assisted by Dr Mario Santagata with Dr Raffaele Canonico also present”.
“Titanium plates and screws were used in the operation”.
“The player is doing well and will remain under observation for the next few days”.
“Osimhen is expected to return to action in three months”.
The 22-year-old has been impressive for Napoli this season scoring nine goals in all competitions five in the Serie A and four in the Europa League.
His absence will be a big blow for Napoli who are currently on top of the log in Italy.
Osimhen is also expected to miss the 2022 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon which starts in January.
He scored four goals in six matches to help Nigeria book a Play-off place in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers which ended with a disappointing 1-1 draw with Cape Verde in Lagos .
