Gary Cahill has confirmed his departure from Crystal Palace Football Club.

Cahill, 35, joined Crystal Palace from Chelsea in 2019 where he had a good stint, making 191 appearances and scoring 13 goals in the Premier League.

The English defender also won 2 Premier League titles, 2 FA Cup titles, 1 League Cup title, 1 UEFA Champions League title, and 2 UEFA Europa League titles with the West London club.

The former Bolton Wanderers defender went on to feature for Crystal Palace in 45 games and scored one goal in the Premier League.

“After much thought and deliberation, I can confirm that I have left Crystal Palace FC after an enjoyable two years,” Cahill wrote on his social media account.

He added: “I have really enjoyed my time at the club and I want to extend my sincere thanks to everyone involved at the club, especially the fans and staff who welcomed me into their South London family.”

“It’s been a privilege to play at Selhurst Park, especially in that first season where I got to experience the atmosphere that the Eagles fan create on a match day.”

“Playing in front of the Holmesdale Road stand is a memory that I will cherish in particular. I would like to wish the club all the best for the future and wish them every success for the coming season.”

Having spent all his playing senior career in England, it remains to be seen if Cahill will join another English club, move abroad or call it quit from the round leather game.
