Newly promoted Premier League side Watford have began preparations for life in the English Premier League by bolstering their ranks ahead of the season opener in August.

The Hornets have just completed the signing of Nigerian International Oghenekaro Etebo on a season-long loan deal. Etebo is the second Nigerian to be signed by the club after they announced the signing of former Club Brugge striker Emmanuel Dennis Bonnaventure for £5m.

Etebo becomes the sixth Nigerian to join Watford. The former Galatasaray man will be welcomed by already capped Eagles trio of William Troost-Ekong, Isaac Success and Emmanuel Dennis, former Eagles U-23 player Tom Dele-Bashiru and Joseph Hungbo who is yet to appear for the Eagles.

The Hornets have also completed the signing of Rangers striker Dapo Mebude on a free transfer. Another player who is eligible to play for Nigeria as he has only represented Scotland on the age-grade level.

History backs Etebo to be successful for Watford as they have had former Eagles striker Odion Ighalo some years ago who fired from all cylinders during his spell at the club.
