IBB Ladies Unveil Events In The June – August Cycle




Ladies section of the IBB International Golf and Country Club has got everybody in the club and the sport community looking toward a June-August full with lots of action and fun.

An address by Lady Captain, MaryRose Richard-Obioha, revealed the women have lined up events for June to August cycle to engage and entertain players, sponsors and the golfing community.

Four major events have been packaged for the three-month period in the interest of the organiser, sponsors, participants and fans.

CRAZY GOLF TOURNAMENT – JUNE 19First of events is the Crazy Golf tournament for both men and women players which will hold on Saturday, June 19. 

Crazy Golf Tournament is created for fun while playing golf. Over the years the tournament has witnessed a huge turnout in different hilarious and laughable attires. 

The 2021 Crazy Golf tournament is themed WILD LIFE. It is going to be a shotgun at 8am on June 19. 

Winners as well as the craziest or funniest dressed person will be rewarded with ‘crazy’ prizes. The next event is the Pros vs Ladies Matchplay between the entire professionals in the club and the women players.

Two Ladies face one pro in trick games where the women get to learn new golf skills. 

The tournament which started years back has been dominated by the Pros who look ready to defend the trophy they won in 2017. Though the Ladies have talked tough are set to give a stern fight to end the domination.

This is a two-week event scheduled for July 26-August 6. It is aimed at introducing children at a tender age from 5 to 18 years to the game of golf and Tennis.

In the two weeks, participants are taken through intense sessions every day with only Wednesday as a rest day.

The two weeks intensive Clinic involves both practical and lectures handled by professionals, with lot of classroom work and also hands-on training.

At the end, the participants will be in a competition with fantastic rewards for the winners.
 Children who perform very well will be selected to participate in the coming 13th IBB Junior open.


The IBB Junior open golf championship is a two-day tournament organised for youthful girls and boys between the ages of 7 to 18.

Players from all over the country meet at the IBB Golf and Country Club to participate in several categories. In recent times, children who participate and perform well have been picked to go on an international tours.

This is an opportunity for the upcoming golfers to develop their games, learn new skills to become competition-ready.

There are prizes for winners in the different categories. In the case where there is a tie between top contenders, a sudden-death playoff will determine the eventual winner.

The 2021 IBB junior open golf championship is the 13th edition and it is listed on the World Amateur Golf Ranking calendar.

All events are open to the interest of sponsors and partnerships.

Lady Captain Richard-Obioha assures that corporate bodies will get the mileage for sponsors and partners through robust media publicity, coverage, and fan engagement.

2021 IBB Junior Open Championship holds August 11-13



The 13th edition of IBB Junior Open Championship will hold from August 11-13, 2021, at the IBB International Golf and Country Club, Abuja.

The three day tournament is open to junior players between the ages of 7 and 18, from any part of the country and the globe.

Male and female players have an opportunity to play in this World Amateur Golf Ranking event by registering their interest to participate on or before July 28.

All participants are to register with a fee of N10,000 made to Ladies Section, IBB Int’l Golf and Country Club, Zenith bank account – 1010652713.

Upon successful payment, registrants are then required to verify and confirm their participation by communicating all necessary information to 07064061364.

Schedules for the event have already been finalised with a daily tee-off on the 11th and 13th while presentation of prizes to winners is on the last day at 3pm.

All registered participants are to arrive the IBB International Golf and Country Club on August 10 for cocktail ceremony and practice rounds in preparation for tee-off, the following day.

Captain of IBB Ladies, Lady Captain MaryRose Richard-Obioha and the Organising Committee members will be on ground to receive participants on arrival until the final day.
Previous editions of IBB Junior Open Championship have produced golf ambassadors who’ve gone on to play international tours.

The tournament has been a platform for sponsors to showcase their brands and strength to local and international golf communities and the general sports consumer market.

Friendship, fashion, fun flourish at IBB Ladies Women Golf Day



IBB International Golf and Country Club joined the network of the world’s golf community in celebration of women and girls in the sport with the 2021 Women’s Golf Day event in Abuja on June the 1st.

The event opened with an array of colourful appearances of women golfers.

Men golfers also came in show of support and solidarity for the women.

Attendees came in splashing colours of red tops on white pants with a red/white face-cap to the event organised by the Ladies Section of the club.

They included Lady golfers from TYB Golf Club, Parkland Golf Club and Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Club.
Secretary to the Nigeria Golfers Federation (NGF), Mr Umar Lambu, also graced the occasion.

Lady Captain MaryRose Richard-Obioha and her members were at the front of things with a promise of an exhilarating experience for all on the day.

In the end, friendship developed amongst participants from different race, religion, language, ethnicity and location who flourished the day with fun experiences.

The four-hour event kicked off as planned with the arrival of the women at 6:30am, a photoshoot session from 7 to 7:30am before the game of golf teed off at 7:30 to end at 9:30.

All guests and attendees were treated to a healthy breakfast at end of play while discussion got on until 10:30am.

Women’s Golf Day is a global event organised in Golf Courses across the world in celebration of women and girls playing the sport.

  IBB Ladies host Women’s Golf Day in Abuja



On June 1, the Ladies Section of IBB International Golf and Country Club will host existing women and girl golfers as well as those interested in the sport in a one-day event to celebrate the 2021 Women’s Golf Day.

Women’s Golf Day is a global event where women and girls can experience golf for the first time or where current players can play and engage with women interested in golf.

It is being hosted at golf courses and retail locations all around the world on the same day.
It is a network of women around the world supporting golf and one another through events and partnerships that empower new and experienced golfers by teaching skills that last a lifetime.

The focus for Women’s Golf Day is to provide women with products and resources that will help them grow and feel great, regardless of their skill level; introduce new female participants to golf and celebrate existing players by joining them together irrespective of race, religion, language, ethnicity, or location.

Tuesday’s event at the IBB Golf and Country Club is open to every woman golfer, including new players, with an entry fee of N1000.
Dress code for the Women’s Golf Day is a red top, white pants/shorts and a white face cap.

Men are also invited and expected to wear same colours.

The four-hour experience happening globally opens with the arrival of the women at 6:50am, followed by a photo session from 7am to 7:30; the game tees-off properly with golf action from 7:30 to 9:30am, closes with breakfast and discussion from 9:30 to 10:30am.
