Eden Hazard has apologized for laughing with Kurt Zouma and Edouard Mendy after Real Madrid’s loss to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.
Hazard received a lot of backlash for his actions after the game from Real Madrid fans and Spanish media which has resulted into divided opinion amongst football fans on social media.
“I am sorry. I have read a lot of opinions about me today and it wasn’t my intentions to offend Real Madrid fans.
” It has always been my dream to play for Real Madrid and I came here to win.
“The season is not over and together we must now battle for La Liga! Hala Madrid!”, Hazard wrote on his social media account.
The Belgian forward struggled for most part of the game and was replaced by Mariano Diaz in the 89 minutes.
He has managed to score 3 goals in 18 appearances across all competitions so far this season.
Christian Pulisic’s lovely finish and an acrobatic kick from Karim Benzema ensured both sides shared the spoils in the first leg of the encounter at the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium, while goals from Timo Werner and Mason Mount in the second leg saw the west London club edge Zinedine Zidane’s side.
