Nigerian Players Scorecard: Dessers On Target In Belgium

Nigerian Players Scorecard:

Hope Ejairu

Nigerian Players across Europe have always displayed topnotch performance since the beginning of the 2020/2021 season and they continued in the same fashion over the weekend, reports.

Cyriel Dessers showcased a standout performance. Dessers started for Genk against Club Brugge in the Belgium Jupiler League. He converted a spot-kick in the 85th minute to earn his side a 2-1 win away from home. Dessers was a threat to Club Brugge’s defence on several occasions in the course of the game. His fellow compatriot Paul Onuachu was an unused substitute.

The duo of Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho featured for Leicester City as they host Tottenham Hotspur at the King Power Stadium. The work rate of Ndidi in the Foxes’ midfield coupled with Iheanacho support for Jamie Vardy upfront wasn’t enough, thus Brendan Rodgers side lost 4-2 at home thereby missing out on UEFA Champions League football next season.

Semi Ajayi was on parade for West Bromwich Albion in their away game against Leeds United in the English Premier League. Ajayi tasted every minute of action but his presence in the Baggies’ defence couldn’t alter the result in his side’s favour as they lost 3-1 to Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
